We are aware that many young people may be confused or concerned about their next steps, especially at the moment! So we decided to pull together our range of partners, including Further Education, Higher Education and skills providers, in one place to help you. 

Whether you are exploring what’s next for you or helping to provide support to a young person planning their future, our Expo will showcase the opportunities at your fingertips!

This is the first Hello Future Expo and we have designed the event with you in mind. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about the options available within Cumbria and Lancashire.

Why register?

You will be able to interact with representatives from participating universities, colleges and organisations by visiting their virtual booth to find out more about what they offer and ask questions via the chat function. There will also be virtual presentations which will provide useful information to help with future decisions. 

We have real people available on the day to offer advice and support that’s tailored to you.

Hello Future is a partnership of universities, further education and skills providers, working together to deliver impartial advice, guidance and activities across Cumbrian communities, schools and colleges. At Hello Future, we want to provide young people in Cumbria with the information and support to help them make the key decisions important to their future. Working out what to do next is an exciting time, however we recognise that it can also be a stressful time as well, given the number of routes and options available. The Hello Future team can offer a range of free workshops and events that explore the different routes into higher education. You might have questions, or be unsure, about what to do next. This virtual event is designed to support you with your next steps which may include a university degree or a higher or degree apprenticeship. Anyone can interact with representatives from participating universities, colleges or organisations by visiting their virtual booth to find out more about what they offer and ask questions via the chat function. There will also be virtual presentations and talks which will provide useful information to help with future decisions.

1. Plan your time
  • Which booths or talks would you like to attend?
  • Are you able to attend the event for the full 3 hours? If not, are there any key information talks or booths you would like to visit?

2. Narrow down your options
  • Research participating Further Education, Higher Education and employer organizations
  • You might find it useful to have an idea of your top careers or subject choices. You’ll then be clear on the information you would like to access and any key questions you would like answering.

3. Attend a prep session
  • Come along to one of our ‘How to prepare for a virtual event’ sessions where you will be given some helpful hints and tips for getting the most out of the event! We’ll share more information about this soon!
